Carpinteria Open Streets 2017
April 1 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
This year, we will be celebrating Open Streets in Carpinteria in 2017. While the event will be held at a new location, rest assured it will have most of the great activities offered at our past three events and some great new activities yet to be experienced. The streets will once again become a public park for the day and transformed into a celebration of people-power to promote better health, flexibility and FUN!
On April 1st (April Fools Day) 1 mile of Carpinteria streets will be closed to cars and open to play and exercise on, no fool’n! A wide range of free fun family oriented physical activities will be offered to the community by the community ranging from biking, walking, dancing, skating, street hockey, soccer, chalk drawing, street games, live music, yoga, massage, rock climbing and much more. Block parties on 9th and 8th streets will include lawn games, music, food, and community beautification projects. Art and performances will also be featured in this grass roots community event.
