Lisa received her BA in Biology from Brandeis University, Master of Environmental Science from Yale University, and PhD in Communication from UCSB She is the Environmental Communication Program Director and a lecturer for the Strategic Environmental Communication and Media Program at UCSB’s Bren School of Environmental Science and Management. Previously, Lisa worked for NOVA/WGBH Boston, where she co-developed proposals for new television programs, oversaw media evaluation and impact studies, and conducted editorial research; she has also been co-Principal Investigator on several National Science Foundation-funded research grants with NOVA. Some of Lisa’s interests include writing, moral framing, social influence and social networks, environmental attitudes and beliefs, environmental and social justice, and the effectiveness of environmental messaging, storytelling, and narrative. Lisa lives in downtown Santa Barbara but is in the process of moving to Ventura.
